David Wayne Flowers

David Wayne Flowers, 75, of Vidor, passed away on February 5, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born on July 18, 1950, David was a lifelong resident of Vidor. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Mobil Refinery in Beaumont for 33 years before retiring. David was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors, but nothing meant more to him than spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Flowers of Vidor, Texas; daughters Shelley Garrett of Vidor, Texas, Kay Odom and husband Lee of Buna, Texas, and Danna Elder of Vidor, Texas; and his brother Andrew “AJ” Jackson Flowers Jr. and wife Loretta of Vidor, Texas.

David is also survived by his stepchildren Chris Benefield and wife Anna, Carrie Jeanis and husband Greg, Matthew Benefield and significant other Tiffany, and Michael Benefield and wife Mykal.

He leaves behind numerous grandchildren: Robby Garrett and wife Ashley, Randall Garrett and wife Heather, Rachelle Zimmermann and husband Cole, Jordan Harrison and wife Brooke, Beau Manuel, Blake Manuel, Jackson Benefield, Madilyn Benefield, Zoe Jeanis, Layla Jeanis, Heidi Benefield, and Hallie Benefield.

His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren Addison, Hannah, Colton, Noah, Bowen (still on the way), Gemma, Halle, Blair, Chloe, and Rylee.

David is also survived by his faithful dog and constant companion, Remi.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 41 years, Annette Flowers; his parents Andrew Jackson Sr. and Mildred Flowers; his sister blanche Marie Comeaux; and his granddaughter, Haylee Harrison.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation in David’s memory.
