Donald Dean Opie

Donald "Don" Dean Opie, 91, of Beaumont, died Sunday, April 24th, 2022 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Beaumont and was a retired Instrument Operator for the company Unocal. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was a fan of ultra light aircraft and practiced taxidermy as a hobby. He was a watchmaker and skilled home builder. He was also still very active going to Exogyn even at 91 years old. Don was an excellent listener and was always patient and kind. He was a good provider for his family. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. There will be a visitation Thursday, April 28th, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with cremation to follow. Don is survived by his children Linda Davlin of Houston, TX, Brenda Opie-Aldred of Beaumont, TX, Donna Opie of Beaumont, TX, and Sandra Marquez of Nederland, TX as well as 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Agnes Opie and his sons John Judson and Phillip Opie.
