Donald Francis Porter

Donald Francis Porter, 93, died Sunday, December 26th, 2021 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was a longtime resident of Vidor, before moving to Beaumont 20 years ago. Donald was a longtime member of Lakeview Baptist Church and attended North End Baptist Church in Beaumont as well. Donald served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. While working for Texaco he spent time over seas in Belgium and an extended period of time in Honduras. He worked as an electrician for Texaco for 36 years before retiring. He loved to travel and read, and liked to go hunting. He was also an avid mall walker. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. There will be a visitation Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. The funeral will take place Monday, January 3rd, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 71+ years Patsy Porter of Beaumont, TX, his children, Douglas Porter and wife Susan of Beaumont, TX, Gary Porter of Vidor, TX, and Cindy Porter of Beaumont, TX, his grandchildren, Kara Pack and husband Mike, Amber Winchester and husband Shane, Karen Mangan and husband David, Krista Spoonmore and husband Hayden, Emalie Jones, and 4 great grandchildren, his brother-in-law Ronnie Collins of Vidor, TX, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Columbus and Lucy Porter, his brother Thomas W. Porter, and his sister Carla Mae Snider.
