Donald Lee “Cowboy” Moorman passed away November 14th, 2022, at the age of 84 surrounded by loved ones at Silsbee Oaks Health Care. Don was born and raised in Metropolis, Illinois and moved to Texas with his family in 1958. He worked as a police officer in Vidor, TX and later became a Superintendent for LD construction where he retired from. He later came out of retirement to work with the city of Vidor. Don was known for his love of horses and raised Belgian Draft Horses with his late son, Dennis Lee Moorman at his home, Sunny M Farm. Don is survived by his wife of eight years, Jeanette Moorman, and his Daughter Barbara Ann Short and her husband Milton Wade Short, brother James Larry Moorman, stepdaughters Susan Anderson, Stacey Beaber, Sherri Allen, Lora Wright, grandchildren Kaylee Ann Wendling and her husband Thomas Leon Wendling III, Ashley Renee Short, and numerous step grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years Anna Faye Moorman, sons Fred Larry Moorman, and Dennis Lee Moorman, sister Darlene Fomby, and parents Fred and Iona Moorman. Funeral arrangements are being held by Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, TX. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17th, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor, TX. The Funeral service will be held Friday, November 18th, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Pine Forest Baptist Church immediately followed by graveside service at Restlawn Memorial Park.
