Doretta Marie Moorman, 78, of Vidor, passed away on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, at her residence. Born in Kinder, LA, Doretta was a cherished member of the Vidor community, where she resided for many years. Doretta was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vidor, where she found comfort and community in her faith. Professionally, Doretta served as a bookkeeper for Golden Commercial Refrigeration and The Refrigeration Company, where her meticulous attention to detail and dedication to her work were greatly appreciated. In her leisure time, Doretta found enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life. She had a fondness for watching westerns and reading western books by authors like Louis L`Amour. Playing cards with friends and family brought her great joy and provided cherished moments of connection. Doretta was preceded in death by her father, Dorcenus Deshotel, mother, Bertha Deshotel, husband, James Moorman, brother, Bobby Deshotel and sisters, Carol Rester, Becky Underwood and Trudy Bourque. She is survived by her children: Regina Sanders and her husband Terry of Vidor, TX; Stuart Moorman and his wife Wendy of Vidor, TX, and Jason Moorman and his wife Jeanine of Green Acres, WA. She is also survived by her brothers: Joe Deshotel of New Iberia, LA; Lawrence Deshotel of Kinder, LA, and Don Deshotel of Kinder, LA. Her memory lives on through her 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. May Doretta Marie Moorman rest in peace, and may her family find solace in the cherished memories they shared with her.
