Dorothy Jean Sturm

Dorothy Jean "Dot" Sturm, 91 of Vidor died Monday, April 20th, 2020 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Morton Valley, TX, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Dot was a member of First Christian Church in Vidor. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family. Dot was also a seamstress and was a volunteer for the Christian Care Center in Vidor. She received citizen of the year award several years ago. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the funeral will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 24, 2020 at Maplecrest Baptist Church in Vidor with burial to follow at Singleton Cemetery in Vidor. Dot was preceded in death by her parents Wilburn and Berniece Tankersley, son David Sturm, brothers Paul and Larry Tankersley, and sister Yvonne Dick. She is survived by her husband of 71 years Paul Sturm, sons Eddie and his wife Beverly Sturm, Lynn Sturm and his wife Linda all of Vidor, TX, daughter Jeannie and her husband Deryl Moore of Troup, TX, sisters Brenda Warren of Abilene, TX, and Gracie Lautaret of Longview, TX, brother J.B. Tankersley of Apache Junction, AZ, 6 grandchildren Kurt and his wife Jennifer Sturm, Kim and her husband John Houseman, Kristie and her husband Dale Baxter, Lance and his wife Christel Sturm, Leslie and her husband Chris Phillips all of Vidor, TX, Brian and his wife Sabrina Savoy of Waxhaw, NC, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
