Dorothy Lee Howell

Dorothy Lee Howell, 98, of Lumberton, Texas died Sunday, April 24th, 2022 at her residence in Lumberton. She was a longtime resident of Vidor, Texas and Lovelady, Texas but has spent the last year in Lumberton. She worked as the Orange County Transportation Director for 20+ years and was a longtime Sunday school teacher for The First Baptist Church of Vidor. Dorothy loved attending church and played piano for the church and was often a song leader. She would devote time to travel with the church and working at Christian Care Center in Vidor. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. There will be a visitation Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. The funeral will be held Thursday, April 28th, 2022 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Vidor with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Dorothy is survived by her son Tom Howell of Oklahoma City, OK, her daughter Patti Barton of Lumberton, TX and her husband Randy, her grandchildren Jacob Howell, Keyton Howell, Logan Barton and wife Kirbi, and Jessi Barton, and her great grandchildren John Barton and Andilyn Barton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Juel Eugene Howell, her parents Jesse and Nura O'Neal, and her sisters Pat Brown and Janice Bryan.
