Esther Ladell Harris

October 21, 1937 — February 20, 2024

Esther LaDell Harris, beloved by all who knew her, peacefully departed from this world on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, surrounded by loved ones. LaDell, 86, originally from Richards, Texas, made Vidor her cherished home for many years. Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life, evidenced by her longstanding membership at Lakeview Baptist Church in Vidor, where she not only attended services faithfully but also dedicated her time to teaching Sunday school classes, imparting her wisdom and love of God to younger generations. LaDell's creative spirit shone brightly through her passion for painting, a talent she not only enjoyed for herself but generously shared by teaching painting to others. Her green thumb was evident in her flourishing garden, where she cultivated beauty and found solace in nature's embrace. Family was paramount to LaDell. She is survived by her devoted son, Paul Gregory, and her cherished adopted daughter, Tammy Blanchard siblings Boone Hoke, Elsie Pool, Sharon Welch. Her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren Melissa Thompson, Trista Gregory, Randall Gregory, Candace Prisnee, Richard Gregory, Rachel Gass, William Wilcox, and Savannah Jackson, great-grandchildren Justin Thompson, Brooke Thompson, Austin Gregory, Levi Gregory, Camryn Prisnee, Richard David Gregory, Amelia Rose, Kaelynn Stewart, Bailey Stewart, Dakota Wilcox and Tyler Wilcox , who brought immense joy to her life. In addition to her family, LaDell leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and generosity that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. LaDell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Harris, her dear parents, Weldon and Willie Mae Hoke, her daughter Cindy Gregory, and her son David Gregory. Though she may have left this earthly realm, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she find eternal peace in the arms of her Savior.
