Fannie Thomas, Hoffpauir, Carpenter was born in Vidor, Texas, on December 29, 1929 to Zadie “Sade” Pevitot Thomas and Henry Oliver Thomas. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two children, Johnnie Raye Whittington Hookstra and Ronald Stephen Hoffpauir, both husbands, a grandson, James Benjamin Gammon, and nine of her loving brothers and sisters. Her only surviving sibling is Lenard “Rip” Thomas and several precious sisters-in-law. She often referred to herself as a Plain Jane because she enjoyed the simple things in life. She retired from K-Mart in Beaumont after working there for over twenty years. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Cristy Hoffpauir Gammon of Waco and Steve Robert Hoffpauir and wife Claire of Beaumont. She is also survived by four great grandchildren: Abigail Reagan Gammon, Matthew Tyler Gammon, Meredith Madison Gammon and Ave Camille Hoffpauir. She was extremely proud of those great grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to share their latest accomplishments and funny stories about them. There will be a visitation on Monday, October 11, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home on Hwy. 12 in Vidor, Texas.
