Francis Avinell Conner

Francis Avinell Conner, age 79, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 23rd, 2023, at her residence. Born in Beaumont, she was a cherished and long-time resident of Vidor. Francis was a devoted member of Victory Bible Baptist Church in Vidor and spent many years as a Loan Officer. She was a multifaceted individual with passions ranging from fishing and gardening to showcasing her skills as an excellent Southern cook. Francis approached life with creativity and zest. Her artistic talents extended beyond the kitchen to the canvas, and she showcased her flair for design as a very gifted seamstress. Her melodious voice graced the stage as she sang with various groups, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to hear her. Francis is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Harvey Conner Sr. of Vidor, TX. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared experiences. Her memory will forever live on through her children: Kaye Mendoza and her husband Jay of Port Arthur, TX; Connie Soniat and her husband Mike of Lumberton, TX; Harvey Conner Jr. and his wife Teresa of Forney, TX. She is also survived by her brother, Butch Snyder of Nederland, TX, and sister, Bobbye Rigsby of Midlothian, TX. Francis was a proud and doting grandmother to Waysie Jensen, Kara Jordan, Whitney Whitehead, Emily Leverett, Sara Wright, James Conner, Jr., and Aubrey Conner, and a great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren. Her warmth, generosity, and love for family created a legacy that will be cherished for generations to come. She is preceded in death by her son, James Rufus Conner, her parents James and Betty Fowler, granddaughter Leesha Roy, sister Ann Littrell, and brother John Fowler. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the vibrant and full life she lived, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories.
