Frankie Oran Langston Sr., 85, of Vidor, passed away on Friday, February 16th, 2024, at his residence. Born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, Frankie was a dedicated member of the Vidor community, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and love. For 45 years, Frankie served as a pipe fitter for Local Union #195, dedicating himself to his craft and providing for his family. In retirement, he found solace and joy in simple pleasures, such as listening to music and strumming his guitar. Frankie had a special affinity for animals, particularly cows and chickens, and took great delight in caring for them. Above all else, Frankie cherished spending time with his grandchildren. Their laughter and love brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent in their company. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Frankie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dixie Langston, of Vidor, TX, and their children: Tina Myrick and husband William of Vidor, TX; Brenda Ramsy and husband Scott of Vidor, TX; and Frankie Langston Jr. and wife Katie of Vidor, TX. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Gladstone and Lona Langston, his daughters Robin McKee Gardner and Loretta Johnson, his brother James Edward Langston, and his son-in-law Joe Johnson. Frankie Oran Langston Sr. will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to bring comfort and joy to those who loved him.
