Garland B. Copeland, 81, of Vidor died Monday, February 28, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Elkins, Arkansas, he has lived in Vidor for 56 years. He was a self-employed contractor with Copeland Contractors since 1963 and was a member of The Apostolic Church in Beaumont. Garland proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at The Apostolic Church in Beaumont, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Memorial Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Elizabeth Copeland of Vidor, TX, sons: Ronnie Copeland and his wife Barbara of Vidor, TX, Marvin Copeland and his wife Ann of Vidor, TX, and Rev. Timothy Copeland and his wife Kathy of Atlanta, GA., daughters, Geraldine and her husband Rev. Steve McMullen of Vidor, TX, and Teresa and her husband Rev. Wayne Cardwell of DeQuincy, LA., sister Marie Canfield of Escondido, CA., 13 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
