George Allen Safer, Sr.

GEORGE ALLEN SAFER, SR., 74, of Vidor died and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 23, 2002 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Woodville, TX., he was a lifelong resident of Vidor, and was a assistant supervisor of operation at Mobil Chemical in Beaumont, TX. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Vidor, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, TX. Visitation will be Thursday, December 26, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his son George A. Safer, Jr. He is survived by his wife Colleen Newsome Safer of Vidor, TX., daughter Charlotte Diane Warner, and husband Randy of Beaumont, TX., sons Ricky Safer and wife Gayle of Vidor, TX., Randy Safer and wife Sandee of Hendersonville, TN., and Terry Safer and wife Teresa also of Hendersonville, TN., brothers John Safer of Vidor, TX., and Charles Safer of Fred, TX., sister Pauline Powell of Woodville, TX; Fifteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
