Herman Doyle Dowers

Herman Doyle Dowers, 78, of Vidor, died Thursday, February 24th, 2022 at Avalon Place in Kirbyville, TX. He was a longtime resident of Vidor. He served his country in the U.S. Army and retired after 20 years as a Sargent First Class and fought during the Vietnam War. He loved fishing that was his favorite past time. He loved his grand babies and great grand babies and would love supporting them and watching them play their sports such as baseball and softball and other activities. Herman was an athlete his whole life and enjoyed watching football, golf, and baseball and he love spending time with family. The visitation for Herman will be on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor beginning at 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM with a graveside service at Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Liberty, TX at 2:00 PM. He is survived by his wife Margie Dowers of Vidor, TX, son Roger and wife Betty Dowers of Kirbyville, TX, daughter Stefanie and husband Michael Collins of Vidor, TX, siblings Dorothy Richardson of Kirbyville, TX, Claude Dowers of Vidor, TX, and J.L. Carrell of Houston, TX, 5 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Claude Dowers Sr., mother Jessie Carrell, step father Louis Carrell, and sister Patricia Taylor.
