James C. Blankenship, Sr., 63, of Vidor died Friday, June 4, 2010 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Vidor, he was a self-employed carpenter. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home. James was preceded in death by his son James C. Blankenship, Jr., father Eugene Clifton Blankenship brothers Jessie Harold Blankenship, Jerry Eugene Blankenship, and Samuel Ray Blankenship. He is survived by his son James Clifton Blankenship, III., mother Lillie Blankenship all of Vidor, brothers William David Blankenship of Kingwood, TX., Paul Daniel Blankenship of Vidor, Thomas Mark Blankenship of Kountze, and Patrick Timothy Blankenship of Vidor, sisters Lillie Jane Master of Lumberton, Mary Ella Hammock of Silsbee, Nancy Carol Vercher of Vidor, Rebecca Faith Markham, and Sarah Rachel Jones both of Lumberton.
