James Marlon Fulton Sr., 94, of Rose City, TX, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 22, 2025. Born in Louisville, MS, he was a longtime resident of Vidor.
James honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his service, he built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He was a devoted member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and the proud owner and operator of J & D Partners LTD. Known for his grit and perseverance, he often credited his success to the “school of hard knocks.”
A true family man, James cherished time spent with his loved ones. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and loved playing dominoes and rook with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Louise Fulton of Rose City, TX; children: Jim Fulton of Rose City, TX, Jan Kelly and husband Jerry of Vidor, TX, Diane Daigle and husband Jerry Don of Rose City, TX, Sherry Valentine of Vidor, TX, and Joey Fulton of Rose City, TX; stepchildren: David Hoosier and wife Misty of Magnolia, TX, and Sharon Myers and husband Stacy of Mont Belvieu, TX; brother David Fulton and wife Chris of Starkville, MS; along with 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Dorothy Fulton; daughter, Kathy Fulton Page; grandchildren, Monica Page and Paul Daigle; and stepson, Danny Hoosier.
James will be remembered as a man of faith, resilience, and love—someone who worked hard, gave much, and found joy in the simple blessings of life.
