James "Sandy" Kirkland

James "Sandy" H. Kirkland III, a cherished member of the Vidor community, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8th, 2024, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was 75 years old.

Affectionately known as "Sandy," he was a longtime resident of Vidor, where he touched the lives of many through his kindness and generosity. Sandy dedicated many years of his life to Local 587, from which he retired. Throughout his life, Sandy found joy in traveling and capturing the beauty of the world through his camera lens. Sandy had a giving spirit and took pleasure in brightening the lives of others through the thoughtful gifts he bestowed upon them. Sandy will be deeply missed by his children, Michelle Mooney and her husband Lane of Vidor, TX, Keith Kirkland of Vidor, TX, and Kevin Kirkland Sr. of Vidor, TX. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Marshall Mooney, Matthew Mooney, Ashley Fronzaglio, James Kirkland, Keith Allen Kirkland Jr.,Breanna Kirkland, Kevin Kirkland Jr., Raegan Kirkland and 11 great grandchildren and his girlfriend Brenda Burton and her grandchildren Linkyn Arabie, Kora Guidroz. Preceded in death by his wife Linda Kirkland, son James H. Kirkland IV, granddaughter Kristen Kirkland, and brother Terry "Dusty" Kirkland. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Autism Speaks, Donations Processing Center, Autism Speaks, P.O. Box 37148, Boone, IA 50037-0148, in honor of Sandy's compassionate spirit and dedication to supporting meaningful causes. Sandy Kirkland will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the love he shared with all who knew him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who mourn his loss.
