Jeanette Bordelon, 79, of Vidor, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor surrounded by her family.
A longtime resident of Orange County, Jeanette devoted many years of her life to caring for others as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Her work reflected her compassionate nature and strong sense of service.
Jeanette had a passion for crocheting and enjoyed many forms of arts and crafts, often sharing her handmade creations with those she loved. She also loved the outdoors and spent time hiking and fishing whenever she could. Baking for her family brought her great joy, and her kitchen was often a place of warmth and togetherness. She was also known for looking after her neighbors, always ready to lend a helping hand.
She is survived by her children, Christina Kresser of Boerne, Texas, Jon Kresser and his wife Monica of Mauriceville, Texas, and James Journeay and his wife Naomie of Mauriceville, Texas. She is also survived by her brothers, Ernest Leger and his wife Priscilla of Montgomery, Texas, Roland Leger Jr. and his wife Darlene of Deer Park, Texas, and Bruce Abrego and his wife Tina of Katy, Texas. Jeanette leaves behind five grandchildren, Kyle Kresser, Brandon Kresser, Blake Kresser, Justin Journeay, and Keileigh Cunningham, along with eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Bitner; her father, Roland Leger Sr.; her mother and stepfather, Henritta Abergo and Bernard Abergo; her brother, Brent Abergo; her sister, Brenda Wardle; and her great-grandson, Grayson Scott Journeay.
Jeanette will be fondly remembered for her kindness, creativity, and devotion to her family, friends, and community.
