John Lewis Jasper, Jr.

John L. Jasper, Jr., 89, of Vidor died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Evadale, he has lived in Vidor since 1942, and was a retired steel fabricator with Bethlehem Steel. Funeral services will held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home. John was preceded in death by his parents John L. and Malishia Jasper, Sr., son Vernon Jasper, and brother Thomas Eugene Jasper. He is survived by his wife Ruby Jasper of Vidor, sons Floyd Jasper of Greenwood, LA., John L. Jasper, III of Milford, NH., and Daniel Jasper of TX., daughters Darlene Rowan of Tampa, FL., Frances Green of New Caney, TX., and Florence Helen Stipe of LaPorte, TX., step-son Vernon Odom of Orange, brothers Elmer Jasper and Clarence Jones both of Vidor, sisters Lorece Thacker of Hot Springs, AR., Ruby Brown Matkin of San Antonio, fifteen grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
