John Ruben Tarver

John Ruben Tarver, 93, of Buna, passed away on Thursday, September 25th, 2025, at Cascades at Port Arthur. He was born in San Augustine, Texas, and spent most of his life as a proud resident of Southeast Texas. John worked for many years as a skilled carpenter with the Local Union in Beaumont, TX, where his craftsmanship and dedication earned him the respect of many.

Beyond his work, John had a deep love for the outdoors. Hunting was one of his greatest enjoyments, and he cherished the quiet moments in nature just as much as the camaraderie it brought with family and friends. Above all, John loved his family and found his greatest joy in the time he spent with them.

He is survived by his children, Sammy Tarver of Buna, TX, Velma Benoit of Bridge City, TX, and Mary Thibodeaux of Beaumont, TX; along with 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who will carry forward his memory.

John was preceded in death by his grandson.
