He was also lovingly raised by his stepfather Harvis Dean Smith. Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years Angie Leger. His children, Ashley Bumsted and her husband Justin Bumsted and his son, Brad Leger and his wife Courtney Leger. His four grandchildren that he loved dearly, Braedyn Joseph Leger, Brantley Lane Bumsted, Loren Ashley Bumsted and Benjamin Jax Leger. Also, his father-in-law, Kenny Barnett, sister-in-law Daisy Netterville and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Leroy Leger and Linda Smith. Joseph loved his wife deeply and made sure she knew it every single day. Every morning before leaving, he would leave her a special note. They shared a special bond that cannot be described. He called her his angel, and their love was a true reflection of what God intended a marriage to be, through sickness and in health till death do us part. Together they owned Reliable Court Reporting for 30 years that they worked so hard on to build and grow. Jody was an incredibly proud father. He loved his children with all his heart and often wore a hat that read “world’s Greatest Dad”. He was equally proud to be a grandfather, especially honored that two of his grandchildren were named after him. A mechanic at heart, there was nothing Jody could not fix. He was incredibly intelligent and could figure out just about anything. He had a huge heart and always thinking of others. His name was fitting for him Joseph like Joseph in the Bible Joseph was a man of integrity, faith, and righteousness who was both compassionate and patient, hardworking and humble. He trusted in God’s plan, even though extreme hardship. Joseph loved to ride motorcycles back in the day it brought him a special peace being free and being able to ride in the beautiful hill country with his beloved wife Angie and together they made many memories doing so. He loved fast cars and that fast life. He loved to fish in fact he had an entire map he had mapped out from the lake that he had worked on through many years of fishing. He also loved to golf in his younger years. Jody’s strength and resilience were unlike anything many had ever seen. He endured numerous hardships and surgeries yet always maintained a positive outlook. He also loved his dog Blue, his loyal support dog.
Jody will be deeply missed by his family, who loved him beyond measure. Thank you, Jody, for all the memories they will never be forgotten.
