Joyce Mae Hoosier

Joyce M. Hoosier, 85, of Gist died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at her residence. A native of Church Point, LA., she has lived in Gist for 20 years, and was a retired caregiver and homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include one daughter June Campbell of Gist, step-son Odis Hoosier and wife Diane of Rose City, special grandson Jimmy Campbell and wife Angela of Gist, special granddaughter Jenette Clark and husband Randy of Lufkin, granddaughters Ava Campbell of Trout Creek, and Shannon Madeley of Buna, four step granddaughters and one step-grandson, twenty great grandkids, seven great-great grandkids, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years Ocie Hoosier, son Ferdie Nelans, step-daughter Norma Hoosier, parents David & Eliza Bertrand, sisters Alice Goss and Margaret Williams, brothers Terry Bertrand, Sanders Bertrand and Derbis Bertrand.
