Joyce Orr Dewitt

Joyce DeWitt, 78 of Vidor died Saturday, May 28th, 2022 at her residence. A native of DeQueen, Arkansas, she was a longtime resident of Vidor. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor and loved her Sunday school class, where she enjoyed visiting with her friends. Joyce drove a school bus for 32 years for Vidor ISD. Where she touched the lives of many of you and your children though the years. She enjoyed doing many thing like camping, traveling, reading, shopping and crafts, but she loved going to the beach. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Joyce was preceded in death by her father Thomas Vernon Orr, mother Pearl Etta Taylor Orr Johnson, grandparents Sid and Laura Orr of Lockesburg, AR, Earl and Annie Taylor also of Lockesburg, AR, step father C.R. Johnson of Vidor, TX. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Jerry DeWitt of Vidor, TX, daughter Shelley DeWitt of Vidor, TX, son Douglas DeWitt of Port Bolivar, TX, grandson Dakota DeWitt and wife Anna, great grandson Hogan DeWitt, brother Thomas Vernon Orr Jr and wife Cathy, nieces Keelie and Kelsey, many cousins who loved her very much.
