Joyce Evelyn Owens, a beloved resident of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at the age of 79. She was surrounded by her family at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor during her final moments. Joyce was known for her warm heart, love for her family, and her dedication to her faith.
Joyce was a lifelong resident of the town. She was a devoted member of Faith Assembly of God, where she found solace and strength in her spiritual community. Joyce had a passion for making crafts and enjoyed expressing her creativity through various artistic projects. Alongside her husband, she found joy in singing gospel music and together they were known as "The Glorifiers."
One of Joyce's greatest pleasures in life was spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, whom she adored. She treasured every moment with them and was often found engaging in activities that brought them all closer. Joyce loved Dr. Pepper, cheeseballs and cookies.
Joyce is survived by her three daughters: Rita Carnahan of Maypearl, TX, Reba Dyson, and Pamela Falgout, both of Vidor, TX. She is also survived by her son David Wayne Dyson and brothers Daniel Sprinkle, Samuel Sprinkle, and David Walter, all of Vidor, TX. Joyce's memory will continue to live on through her 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Earl Dyson, her son Robert Lee Dyson, her daughter Mary Alice Dyson, and her parents James Edgar Riggs and Dovie Reba Sprinkle.
Services for Joyce Evelyn Owens are currently pending. Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her, but her spirit will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and community. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her legacy of love and faith will endure. The visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor on Thursday July 20, 2023 @ 1:00 p.m. the funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. with cremation to follow.
Family has asked that in lieu of flowers, they would prefer donantions be made to either the family or Memorial Funeral Home.
