Katherine Oakes

Katherine Ann Oakes, 79, of Vidor, died Thursday, January 12th, 2023 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. She was a longtime resident of Vidor. She was a devout Christian, who loved Jesus and member of First Baptist Church in Vidor. She retired from Orgain Bell & Tucker lawfirm as a legal secretary. She loved playing Tropical Merge on Facebook, watching TV especially Fox News, and spending time with her family. The family will have a celebration of life for Katherine on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Vidor. She is survived by her daughters Terry and husband Carl Paine of Vidor, TX and Glenda and husband Dwayne Davis of Orange, TX, grandchildren: Bryan and wife Christy Paine, Sarah and husband Shaun Paine, Marlie and her husband Lantz Hebert, and Abi Davis, and great grandchildren: Brayden Paine and Kennady Paine. She was preceded in death by her husband J.B. Oakes Jr., her parents, and siblings. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
