Lafayette Winfield Barkman

Lafayette W. Barkman, 92, of Vidor died Thursday, July 27th, 2017 at Oak Wood Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of Texarkana, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Lafayette was a baptist and served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He became an Upholsterer after he received an honorable discharge from the army and worked with upholstery the rest of is life. Cremation arrangement were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Interment of the cremains will take place in the Houston National Cemetery. Lafayette is survived by his wife of 64 years Lola Barkman and son James Barkman both of Vidor, TX, 3 grandchildren.
