Lavoy Wilkerson Jr., 76, of Vidor, passed away November 9, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and love. Born to Lavoy Wilkerson Sr. and Ella Mae Wilkerson, Lavoy grew up with strong family values that carried him throughout his life.

Lavoy graduated from Vidor High School in 1967 and began his career at just 16 years old with Brock as a blaster and painter on the pipeline. He continued in this profession for more than five decades, retiring in 2019. He was known for his strong work ethic, his willingness to lend a hand, and the friendships he built throughout his career.

Lavoy enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his free time hunting, fishing, and playing softball or golf. He was also an avid football fan. A true prankster at heart, he loved pulling jokes on people and never missed an opportunity to make someone smile. Lavoy was a member of Revival Culture Church in Beaumont, TX, and treasured his faith deeply. One of the highlights of his life was his baptism in the Jordan River during a meaningful journey to the Holy Land.

Lavoy is preceded in death by his parents, Lavoy Wilkerson Sr. and Ella Mae Wilkerson; his son, Lavoy Wilkerson III; and his brother, Larry Wilkerson.

Lavoy is survived by his wife, Cathy Wilkerson of Vidor;

his children: Lisa Cousins of Bridge City, Loren Wilkerson of Arizona, Danielle Bienvenu of Beaumont, and Diane Freedman of Florida;

15 grandchildren;

and six great-grandchildren, with two more expected soon.

Lavoy never met a stranger and built deep friendships everywhere he went. His sense of humor, his generous spirit, and his love for his family will forever be remembered. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
