Lawrence David Claypool

Lawrence David Claypool, 59, of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, July 27th, 2025, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Born in Texas City, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and the proud owner and operator of Claypool Paint and Body in Vidor. Lawrence was known for his strong work ethic, big heart, and love for NASCAR. He especially enjoyed grilling and spending time with his family, where laughter and good food were always on the menu.

He is survived by his wife, Valarie Claypool of Vidor, TX; children David Claypool of Port Neches, TX, Stephan Claypool of Vidor, TX, Timothy Claypool of Vidor, TX, Kimberly Davis of Vidor, TX, Darrell Gentry of Vidor, TX, and Charles Gentry of Vidor, TX; and 11 beloved grandchildren: Easton Claypool, Skylar Claypool, Levi Claypool, Trent Claypool, Datin Claypool, Bryan Claypool, Charlie Gentry, Cheyanne Davis, Jaydon Davis, Savannah Davis, and Stella Claypool.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
