Leonard Ray Harrell

Leonard Ray Harrell, 65, of Vidor, a longtime resident of Vidor, has passed on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was very athletic growing up and an exceptional baseball player as a child. He loved movies—especially science fiction—and his favorite film was Contact. Music was also a joy in his life, with Lynyrd Skynyrd being his all-time favorite band.

A true animal lover from childhood through adulthood, he always had at least one dog by his side. He cherished his dogs as though they were his own children. His generous, kind spirit touched everyone who knew him, and he was loved by all.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Matthews.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, Kenny Harrell; brothers, Kenneth and Scott and wife Charice; sisters, Bess and Annie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He will be missed dearly.
