Lesley "Les" Keith Mccammon

Lesley "Les" Keith McCammon, a man of many talents and a heart full of warmth, passed away on Thursday, November 9th, 2023, at the age of 75 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he had made Vidor his home for many years. Les leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and craftsmanship. Les McCammon was a man of faith and community, a dedicated member of Rose City Baptist Church, where he shared his beautiful voice with the congregation. Not only did he have a talent for singing, but he was also known for his mean guitar skills, bringing joy to those around him with his music. In his free time, he channeled his creativity through woodworking, crafting beautiful pieces that will serve as lasting reminders of his craftsmanship. Les served his country with honor as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam conflict, showing his bravery and commitment to the nation. Les McCammon is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Elizabeth Ann McCammon of Vidor, Texas, and a beautiful family that he cherished. His memory lives on through his children: Laura Moore and her husband Robert of Bookeland, Texas; Doug Abrams of Vidor, Texas; Christine Duncan and her husband Bret of Vidor, Texas; John McCammon and his wife Karen of Spring, Texas; Charla McCruter of Salt Lake City, Utah; Kathryn McCammon of Anna, Texas; and Brandie King of Anna, Texas. Les also had a special bond with his brother, Owen McCammon of Fort Worth, Texas. His family extends to 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, with 2 more great-great-grandchildren on their way. Les was preceded in death by his parents, Lenard, and Arlene McCammon, as well as his sister, Jean Harris, and his brother, Mark Mayor. In celebrating the life of Les McCammon, we remember a man who brought music, love, and artistry to the world. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. May he rest in peace, leaving behind a beautiful legacy that continues to inspire and bring joy to others.
