Mauriceville

Leslie Ann Rodgers, 51, of Mauriceville, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, at Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor.

Leslie was the cherished daughter of retired Nurse Rita Miller and the late Octavio Laguna, a Purple Heart recipient and U.S. Army veteran.

A graduate of Lamar University, Leslie served families in a progressive 16-year career at Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, where she worked tirelessly one-on-one with parents and children experiencing challenging circumstances to connect them with resources and care.

Throughout her tenure as a supervising case worker, investigator, and resolutions specialist, she was celebrated as a leader by her colleagues, earning the Texas State Commissioner’s award for Excellence in Mentorship.

Leslie found joy in family time and being in nature. She and her sister Tania were nearly inseparable growing up. As adults, they lived close by and raised families together. They shared a lifetime good laughs and meaningful lessons.

Leslie was a devoted and supportive mother who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her children, Dax and Lanie. Whether it was sports events or extracurricular activities, she was always there, offering encouragement and showing her unwavering pride and love.

Leslie loved watching the wildlife in her yard, especially the rabbits and birds, often taking time to appreciate nature’s beauty. She enjoyed reading and watching movies, but nothing brought her more happiness than being with her family.

She is survived by her children, Dax Rodgers and girlfriend Chloe Henry, and Lanie Rodgers and their father, Rob Rodgers; her sister, Tania Webb and husband Tim; her mother, Rita Miller and partner Joe; her niece, Courtney Webb and boyfriend Justin Welsh; and her nephew, Jacob Webb and girlfriend Breanna Arzola, all of Mauriceville, Texas. Additionally, she is survived by her cousins Amber Rae Donovan and husband Stephen Donovan of Austin; Adam Herman and wife Stephanie Herman and their children, Hanson, Elizabeth, Cholie, and Zack of Orange; and her aunt, Beverly Haley, daughter Lindsey Haley, and children Shianne and Scarlet Sudela of Vidor.

She was preceded in death by her father, Octavio Laguna; grandparents, Francisco and Incarnation Laguna; maternal grandparents, Eva and James Watkins; aunts PJ Haley, Sherry Herman, Tammy Watkins, and LaVera Lou Haley.

Leslie will be remembered for her sweet spirit, her deep love for her family, and the strength she carried throughout her life and work. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
