Lynda "Darlene" Leach, 76, of Vidor, passed away on Thursday, April 10th, 2025, at Vidor Health and Rehab Center.
A native of Beaumont, Texas, and a longtime resident of Vidor, Darlene spent her life pouring love, music, and laughter into the lives of others. She retired after many years of dedicated service as a music teacher at Little Cypress-Mauriceville Elementary School, where she inspired generations of students to find their voice and joy through music. She was a proud member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association and carried her passion for education and creativity long after the school bell rang for the last time.
Darlene had a natural flair for entertaining—whether she was behind a piano, cooking up something delicious, or simply being the life of the party, she brought warmth, humor, and an unmistakable spark to every room she entered. She especially loved trying new recipes and sharing them with family and friends, always eager to turn a meal into a memory.
She is survived by her loving children, Jamie Holmes and husband Jarrod of Hamshire, TX; her devoted mother, Eula Mae Bowers; her sister, Katie Bowers of Lumberton, TX; and seven beloved grandchildren: Michael Graves, Makayla Hazen, Matthew Hazen, Joshua Hazen, Jeremy Hazen, Mason Allen, and Matthew Holmes.
Darlene was preceded in death by her father Durel Franks, her daughter Kimberly Hazen, and her stepfather Herbert Bowers.
Her legacy lives on in the music she shared, the lessons she taught, and the laughter she sparked in the hearts of those who knew her.
