Lynn L. Ivy

March 18, 1944 — January 28, 2006

Lynn L. Ivy peacefully left this world on January 28, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. in his home surrounded by loved ones. He fought a valiant fight against a brain tumor that struck him suddenly in March 2005. He leaves behind his beloved wife Sharon Ivy and three daughters, Gerri Nerheim, Cece Carroll, and Nimmie Rivero. He is also survived by eight grandchildren Amber, Matthew, Brittany, Taylor, and Shanna, Danielle, Dylan, Brandon, and one great granddaughter Myra. Brothers Nat Brush, Ray Brush, Charles Ivy, and his sister Mildred Brush. And sister in laws Elaine Brush and Mary Ivy and loving nieces/nephews. Also former wife and the mother of his daughters, Yvonne Owens. He is preceded in death by his mother Mildred E., father Ishmail T. Ivy, brother Alan Brush and grandson Dakota Rivero. He worked many years as an Ironworker and retired from local 416 and was well traveled due to his career. He and his wife are animal lovers and have rescued many. His beloved dog Rascal, who was by his side at all times, protected him against anyone who dare try to get too close, his nurse, his nurses aide, etc. Lynn never met a stranger and leaves behind many dear friends, Pete, Ray, Don, Rose and many flea market, iron worker and Vegas buddies. Lynn loved rebuilding old cars, building picnic tables, flea markets and could not sit still. He enjoyed holidays and big dinners at Aunt Mary’s Hollingsworth. He also loved eating fried fish that his son-in-law Shannon caught. He loved his sister in law Sheila West for her massages, but hated that she was habitually late to all occasions. All who knew and loved Lynn are invited to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, 1750 Hwy 12 for a service celebrating Lynn’s life. If you knew Lynn, you know how much he loved visiting.
