Marie Guedry Spears

Marie G. Spears, 100, of Vidor died Sunday, May 13, 2007 at her residence. A native of St. Amant, LA., she has lived in Vidor since 1943, and was a cook for 30 years with the Rebel Inn Restaurant in Evadale, TX. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Vidor. A Funeral Liturgy outside Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, and a Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Elbert J. Spears, parents Sylvania and Irene Guedry, son John “Sonny” Spears, daughters Algie Mae Williamson, and Joan Marie Wilson, and granddaughter Christy Jo Wilson. She is survived by her daughters Elvis Freeman and her husband Leon of Silsbee, Dorothy Stanton of Evadale, Sylvia Lee of San Antonio, Cecile Spears, and Carol Richard and her husband Byron all of Vidor, daughter-in-law Ericka Spears of Vidor, eighteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, and nineteen great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers for the service will be: Gil Freeman, John Stanton, Tracy Stanton, John Clint Wilson, David Spears, Mark Spears, Marvin Spears, Doug Lee, Richard Kirbow Jr., and Joseph Richard.
