Marlin Eugene King Jr., aged 75, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at his residence in Vidor. He was a beloved figure in his community, known for his friendly nature and involvement in various activities. Born in Houston, TX, Marlin spent most of his life as a resident of Mauriceville and Vidor. Throughout his life, Marlin had several passions that brought him joy. He was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed tinkering with antique cars, indulging his mechanical interests. Marlin was dedicated to his work and spent many years employed at Arnold’s Auto Part Store, worlds best pipefitter and a general foreman, leaving behind a lasting impact on his colleagues and customers. He could fix anything that had a motor. Beyond his professional endeavors, Marlin was a man of compassion and served his community selflessly. He volunteered his time with the Fisher of Men organization, contributing to the betterment of others. Additionally, he could often be found mowing the lawns of elderly members of his church, demonstrating his caring nature and commitment to helping those in need. Marlin's generosity extended even after his passing as he donated his body to science, contributing to medical research and advancements. Marlin loved to make people laugh and lived life to it fullest. A memorial service will be held in his honor at Turning Point Church on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00 am. Marlin is survived by his loving children: Marlin "Trey" King III and his wife April of Orange, TX; Shauna Santana and her husband Jesse of Vidor, TX; and stepson Patrick Rainey and his wife Theresa of Mauriceville, TX. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Cormicle of Dam B, TX, and cherished grandchildren: Kenedie, Ricki, Justin, Chris, and Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents Marlin Sr and Elzora King, brother Alan King and sister Glenda King. Marlin's presence in the lives of those who knew him will be deeply missed, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
