Mary Briley Torres

Mary was born in Orange County Texas, 19 October 1924 and passed away the 12th of January 2023 in Vidor, Texas. She was the 10th child of her mother Sina Cole Thompson Briley. She attended and graduated from Vidor High School. She married Alvin Frank Torres in January of 1942. Her husband, Alvin, was co-owner of T&T Pharmacy. She loved handwork, gardening, genealogy, and indexing public records for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her life was an example of service, faith and hard work. She is survived by her 7 children: Gary and wife Shirley Torres, Glenda and husband Jack Wright, Jana and husband Daniel Paterno, Patrice and husband Rick Gross and Kevin Torres all of Vidor, Texas and Anita and husband V.N. Torres of New Zealand and Kyle and wife Tara Torres of Ft. Worth, Texas. She is also survived by 39 grand children, 114 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Vidor Memorial Funeral Home from 6-9 pm on the 19th of January, and funeral services will be Friday the 20th at 10 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Internment will follow at Williamson Cemetery.
