Mary Laura Fredieu, 66, of Fannett, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at her home. Born on October 7, 1957, to Tommy Poole and Mary Moy Poole, Laura was a beloved member of the Fannett community.
A graduate of Vidor High School, Class of 1976, Laura built a successful career in bookkeeping and retired from West Jefferson County Municipal Water District. She bravely fought a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Laura was an active member of St. Mary Church in Fannett, TX. She had a passion for crocheting, traveling, and going on cruises. She loved dancing, Bunco nights, and music, often attending concerts. Laura was known for her generosity and always helping her family. She had a special place in her heart for her dog Nick, who was like her child. Laura was also known for remembering birthdays and decorating with wreaths for every occasion.
The family will have a celebration of life service for Laura on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.She is survived by her loving husband, Kenny Fredieu of Fannett, TX; brother David Poole and his wife Mary of Beaumont, TX; and sister Linda Squires and husband Rick of Crystal Beach, TX. Laura also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Laura’s memory. Her kindness, love, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
