Melvin Mayo Janise 76, of Vidor, TX, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. A long time resident of Vidor, Melvin was a retired construction supervisor and a member of Ironworkers Local #125 for 60 years. Melvin served in the Army as an anti-aircraft gunner stationed in England, where he was also a member of the Army boxing team. Here at home, he was a regular at VFW Post #8246 in Vidor. A Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 6:00 PM. Melvin is survived by his son Tom Janise and his wife Jennifer of Vidor, TX. Two grandsons, Aaron Janise of San Antonio, TX. and Brock Janise of Mauriceville, TX. One granddaughter, Lange Janise of Vidor, TX. Two great-grandchildren, Caily and Cody Janise of Mauriceville, TX. Melvin is also survived by one brother Garry Janise of Vidor, TX. And two sisters Betty Gallier of Vidor, TX. and Geri Addison of Vidor, TX. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mayo and Thelma Janise, and two brothers, Marvin Janise and Floyd “Shorty” Janise.
