Emblem

Michael Lloyd Reed, lovingly known as Dad, Pawpaw, and Grandpa passed away peacefully at his home in Mauriceville, surrounded by family. He was a proud veteran who served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. That service shaped a lifetime defined by humility, discipline, and quiet strength.

One of seven children, he carried a deep and lifelong devotion to his parents and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Rubie, by his six siblings Ed - Preacher, Peggy, Bob, Dwane, Jerry, Ronnie, and by his great-niece, Amy.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Cheryl, of Mauriceville, known to many as Mawmaw. Together they built a life rooted in faith, loyalty, and love that did not waver. He was a loving father to Tammie, Chris, and Maureen 'Mo' and a proud stepfather to Liz and Deborah.

Tammie is a devoted mother to her four sons: Adam and his wife, Katelyn; Tyler and his wife, Tiffany, parents of his great-grandchildren Gabriel, Willem, and Erahlyn; Travis and his wife, Shelby; and Christian and his husband, Josh. Chris and his wife, Trish, are the proud parents of Michael, James, and Jessica. James and his wife, Karen, are the parents of his great-grandson, Aiden, and Jessica is the mother of his great-granddaughter Paisley. Maureen 'Mo', is a devoted mother to her daughter, Brynlee.

He shared a close and enduring bond with his nephew, Gary, of Chicago, Illinois, and Gary's wife, Alaina. Gary and Alaina are proud parents of Michael, Staci and of their beloved daughter, Amy, who preceded him in death.

He knew the streets of Chicago, the heart of Houston, the hills of Tennessee, and the quiet back roads of Mauriceville. Wherever life placed him, he belonged. There was little he could not do - with his hands, his heart, or his will. He was capable, resourceful, and dependable, the kind of man others trusted without question. man of strong Protestant faith, he lived by principles that did not bend with time. He represented a generation defined by service, integrity, and quiet strength, and he had a rare gift for making anyone laugh. He reminded people, often without saying much at all, what goodness looked like.

He was, in every sense, what a man should be. His legacy of love, faith, and family will continue through the generations he leaves behind.
