Michael Travis Powell

June 10, 1971 — July 12, 2023

Michael Travis Powell, a beloved resident of Vidor, passed away on Wednesday, July 12th, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was 52 years old. Michael was a dedicated family man, a lover of the outdoors, and a skilled handyman.

One of Michael's greatest joys was spending time with his son, Coy, and his wife, Colleen. They shared a passion for fishing and boating on the lake and river. Whether it was casting a line or enjoying the peacefulness of the water, these family moments were cherished by all. Michael also had a deep love for camping and being surrounded by nature. His adventures in the great outdoors brought him immense happiness and allowed him to connect with his natural surroundings.

Family meant the world to Michael, and he always made time to be with them. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Michael's love for his family extended to his wife, Colleen, whom he shared 13 wonderful years with. Their bond was built on love, trust, and shared experiences.

In addition to his family, Michael had a knack for tinkering and fixing things. He enjoyed the process of piddling around and finding creative solutions. No challenge was too big for him, and he took great pride in his ability to mend what was broken. Another one of his talents was baking, particularly during the holiday season. Michael delighted in creating delicious treats for his loved ones to enjoy.

Michael Travis Powell is survived by his wife, Colleen Powell, and his son, Coy Powell, both of Vidor, TX. He is also survived by his sons, Lynn Williams and wife Katelyn of Sour Lake, TX, Trace Williams and wife Tabitha of Keithville, LA, and daughter Kaitlynn Moss and husband Darrin of Vidor, TX, as well as Kayla Miller. His mother, Karen Ingle, and husband JW of Vidor, TX, sisters Kimberly Stiebig and husband Daniel of Vidor, TX, Heather Lynn Morrison, Michelle Lee Morrison, Amanda Beth Morrison, Amy Powell, and Jennifer Powell, also survive him.

Michael will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Maddox, Maddilyn, Harper, Maddison, Quinn, and Fisher. He is also survived by his nieces Brigitte Torres, Ashton Miller, Victoria Duplantis, and nephew Cody Henry, along with great nephews Jason, Noah, Landon, and Samuel.
