Mildred Cecelia Langham

Mildred Cecelia Langham, 92, a longtime resident of Vidor, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 8, 2022. She passed away peacefully at Sabine Place assisted living in, Orange, Texas. she was preceded in death by her husband Ole Langham (1925 - 2004) parents, Joseph Yarborough (1896-1974) and Mayme Yarbrough (1896-1971) siblings, Connie Moore (1920-2005), Eva Duncan (1921-2010), and Harold Yarbrough (1925-1992), and her son Larry Langham (1953-1973). Visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2022, at 10 AM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with a service starting at 11 AM. Pastor Kevin Brown will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor Texas. She was born September 24, 1929, in Louisville, Kentucky to parents Joseph and Mayme Yarbrough. She wasn't born in Texas, but she got here as soon as possible moving from Louisville, Kentucky to New Orleans Louisiana to Beaumont Texas in 1938. She survived the great depression of the 1930s and the hardship of World War II. She graduated in 1946 from St. Anthony's High School in Beaumont, Texas. She was married 57 years to the love of her life, Ole Langham. Ole proposed two weeks after they met, and they married on February 26, 1947. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Their first son, Gerald, was born 1948, and their second son, Larry, was born 1953. Mildred and Ole moved to Vidor from Beaumont in 1971. She lived in her neighborhood in Vidor for 50 years. She loved her neighbors like family. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was very involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. Millie was her nickname, and she never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She loved all animals. She was a true friend to everyone, and her parting goodbye was always “see you later, alligator”. Her favorite scripture which she loves to share with her grandchildren was “For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:11. She is survived by her son, Gerald Langham and his wife, Sandra of Vidor Texas, grandson Jay Langham and his wife, Billie Jean Langham of Wimberley, Texas, granddaughter Kelly Langham Maddox and her husband, Stephen Maddox Jr., of Katy, Texas; and great grandchildren, Claire and Emily Langham and Ty and Reese Maddox. Pallbearers will be Jay Langham, Stephen Maddox Jr. Fred Ross, Mark Stephenson, Craig Broussard, Scott Shelander and Billy Parker.
