Richard Smith, 71, of Vidor died Thursday, January 26th, 2017 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, Texas, he was a lifelong residence of Vidor. Richard retired from pipefitters Local Union #195 after 50 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge #1286 in Vidor. Richard enjoyed being with family and fishing. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Monday, January 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years Brenda Smith of Vidor, TX, son John Smith and his wife Melissa of Temple, TX, daughters Becky Tauzin and her husband Jerry, Cindy Smith all of Vidor, TX, mother Myrtis Smith of Vidor, TX, brother Bruce Smith of Vidor, TX, sisters Linda Booth of Temple, TX, Diane Anderson of Vidor, TX, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
