Merline Willette, 90, of Vidor, TX died Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 in Orange, TX. A native of Bancroft, LA she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Merline was a member of Maplecrest Baptist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed making quilts, cooking, sewing and singing, especially with her church group at nursing homes. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, May 14, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Maplecrest Baptist Church in Vidor with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Merline is survived by 1 daughter; Mary Perio and her husband Milton of Bridge City, TX, 2 sons; Larry Willette and his wife Carolyn of Vidor, and James Willette and his wife Karen of Toledo Bend, TX, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters; Sue Hollie of Cleveland, TX and Doris Busby of Gainesville, GA. Merline was preceded in death by her husband; John Willette, 3 brothers; Edwin, Alton and Paul, and 2 sisters; Marie and Vivian. The family would like to extend a special thank you to "Key Key" and David Fairchild for the love and care provided to Merline while in their private home care.
