Peggy Lynn Romero

Peggy Lynn Romero, 80, of Vidor, TX passed away February 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Port Arthur, Peggy spent her adult life in Vidor with her beloved husband, Joe. where they raised their three children. She attended Vidor Global Methodist Church and found great comfort and community there.

Peggy is survived by her daughters, Lisa Parrish and husband Jeff, Chantell Romero and husband James Yanz, Kim Gardenhire and husband Hal. she was a proud and adoring grandmother to Jessica Gibson, Lori Parrish, Whitney Cappen, Meagan Ortiz, Lauren Nini, Hallie Gardenhire, Joe Gardenhire, and deeply adoring great-grandmother to Mia, Chloe, Tripp, Tanner, Hudson, Holden, Edward, Ava, Baylor, Brooks, Oley, Wesley and a baby boy on the way. She is also survived by her loving sister-in-law (and "sister"), Connie Peters; her many nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friends, Martha Thornhill and Vickie Adams.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Romero; her parents, Clyde and Doris Hughes; her brother, Kenneth Hughes; and her beloved sister, Barbara Coburn.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Vidor Health and Rehab, Harbor Hospice, RN Angie Gau, aide Ginger Keneson, and the compassionate caregivers with Visiting Angels for the exceptional love and care they provided to Peggy.

Peggy will be remembered for her deep love for family, her love of music, her sharp sense of humor and "spicy" personality, her fondness for Coca-Cola and Oreos, her Love of the beach and travel, and her favorite motto: "Eat dessert first - you never know what may happen!"

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Vidor Global Methodist Church, followed by a private burial at Magnolia Springs Cemetery.
