Pennie St. Claire Martin

Pennie St. Claire Martin was born July 23rd, 1927 in Apple Springs, Texas to Cliffton and Mamie Martin. He was a longtime resident of Vidor and a faithful member of Maplecrest Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He retired from Mobil after more than forty five years of dedicated service. Pennie lived life to it's fullest and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed dancing and hunting. He was an animal lover and cattle rancher at heart. Family time meant everything to him and he enjoyed playing games such as dominoes. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 17th, 2022 at Maplecrest Baptist Church. The funeral service will be begin at 2:00PM November 17th, 2022 also at Maplecrest Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Singleton Cemetery in Vidor, Texas. Pennie is survived by his daughters, Beverly and her husband Eddie Sturm, and Melena Armour, his daughter-in-law Janet Martin, his grandchildren: Kurt and Jennifer Sturm, Kim and John Houseman, Kristie and Dale Baxter, Mark and Melissa Martin, Matt and Jennifer Martin, Michael Martin, Melissa Martin, Daniel Martin, Allison Koch, and Travis Koch as well as 16 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Frances, his wife of 10 years Maureen, his two sons Gene and Clint Martin and his grand daughter Laurie Copeland, sisters Zethra Okun and Addedale Okun and one brother James Martin. . Pennie's great grandsons will be acting as his pallbearers.
