P.K. Lester, 85, of Mauriceville, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at his residence. A native of Grayburg, TX, he was a longtime resident of Mauriceville and a familiar, friendly presence to all who knew him.
P.K. dedicated his working years as a skilled Pipe Fitter and Welder with Local Union #211, taking great pride in the trade he mastered with his hands. He believed in hard work, loyalty, and doing a job right the first time—values he carried throughout his life. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, and later in life, he found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures—visiting with friends, talking with neighbors, and spending time with the people he loved most.
Above all, P.K. was devoted to his family. He shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Margaret Lester of Mauriceville, building a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lester of Mauriceville, TX; his son, James Lester of Mauriceville, TX; his daughter, Cindy Dorris and husband James of Nederland, TX; his niece, Pat Crawford of Vidor, TX; and one grandson, Josh Duff.
P.K.’s life was a testament to steady work, quiet strength, and deep devotion to those around him. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
