Randall Key Koch Jr., 45, passed away on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, at Walter Reed Army Institution in Silver Spring, Maryland. Born in Kirbyville, Texas, Randall was a beloved member of the Frederick, Maryland community, where he resided for many years. Raised in Vidor, Texas, Randall pursued his education at Lamar University, earning an Associates of Science degree, and later attended the University of North Texas, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree.

Randall proudly served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, specializing as a Health Service Systems Manager (70D) and Cybersecurity Project Manager with the Defense Health Agency in Falls Church, VA. He played a crucial role in consolidating cybersecurity programs across various branches of the military and led a team responsible for Medical Device authorizations for the Military Health System.

Beyond his military service, Randall was known for his passion for woodworking, trap shooting, and playing the guitar. He had a talent for working on various projects to keep his mind occupied, whether it was gaming or spending quality time with his family. Randall was a devoted husband to his wife of 24 years, Sarah Koch, and a loving father to his children, Cadence and Randall "Triston" Key Koch III.

He is survived by his father Randall "Randy" Key Koch Sr. of Brookeland, TX, mother, Connie, and stepfather Ken Gengo of Vidor, TX, brother Juston Koch of Vidor, TX, and cousins William "Trey" Koch III of Beaumont, TX, Jessica Koch of League City, TX, Allison Bolgiano of Pine Dale, Wyoming, Blaine Rhodes of Kirbyville, TX, Taylor Koch, of Montgomery TX, and Amber and Harley Spence of Vidor, TX, aunts Karla Koch Biasiolli of Richmond, TX, Tana Koch Rhodes of Kirbyville, TX, Lori Barnes Spence of Nederland, TX, uncle William "Bill" Barnes of Hiram, GA and brother-in-arms Dustin Prosch of Indinapolis, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Frederick Stars & Stripes High School Clay Target Team P.O. Box 1404 Frederick, MD 21702. Randall Key Koch Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace.
