Richard “T-MAC” Karl McFarlain, 65, of Vidor, passed away on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill, Texas.

Born in Sulphur, Louisiana, Richard was a longtime resident of Vidor and a faithful member of Turning Point Church. He retired as a dedicated pipefitter with Inland Orange Paper Mill in Orange, TX, and was a proud member of Pine Forest Masonic Lodge #1420.

Known by many as “T-MAC,” Richard was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and tracking down the best bargains. He was an amazing husband, dad, and Pawpaw who absolutely adored his grandchildren—they were his pride and joy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Cheryl McFarlain; his children, Jody McFarlain and wife Whittney, and Jennifer Holland and husband Logan; and his beloved mother, Wendy Nunez. Richard also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Wyatt McFarlain, Jayden Boyett, Emilee McFarlain, Lilly McFarlain, Ella Holland, and Lane McFarlain.

He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tommy and Freddie Garrett; sister-in-law Heather Garrett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gary and Patty Miller; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Christa McDowell.

Richard was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, James and Wanda McFarlain, and his father-in-law Larry Miller.

He will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family and the great outdoors.
