Robert "Bob" William Cofer, 70, of Broaddus, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 31st, 2024, at CHI Lufkin Hospital.
A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bob spent many years of his life in Broaddus, Texas, where he became a cherished member of the community. A skilled Union Carpenter, Bob was known for his craftsmanship and passion for woodworking. His hands built not just homes but memories, and his work stood as a testament to his dedication and love for the craft.
In his younger years, Bob was an avid outdoorsman, often found hunting and fishing, embracing the simple joys of nature. He carried a deep respect for the land and the traditions of outdoor life, a passion that he passed down to those who knew him well.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Betty Cofer of Broaddus, Texas, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His legacy lives on through his children, Alicia Cofer and Brandy Cofer, both of Columbus, OH, Bobby Bass of Houston, TX, and Donald Bass Jr. of Vidor, TX. Bob's brother, David Cofer, and sister, Renee Dunkin, both of Ohio, also mourn his loss.
He was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 10, with two more little ones on the way, ensuring that his spirit and love will continue to thrive in the generations to come.
Bob will be remembered as a man who could build anything with his hands, but whose greatest creations were the relationships and memories he built with those he loved. His warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
