Robert Darrell Russell, 76, of Vidor, died Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was a longtime resident of Vidor. He served his country in the US Air Force and was a member of Local 195 Pipefitters Union. Robert was an avid gun and knife collector. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was camping, hunting, fishing, traveling, mining for gold in California, or going to the gun range. He was a member of the Orange Gun Club and also enjoyed cowboy action shooting. He also loved braiding paracord, laughing, and spending time with his family. He was a very loving father, who had a big heart and an abundance of love for his children and grandchildren. He was also deeply passionate about his love of 21 years Sue Turner. Cremation arrangements are entrusted with Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor and the family will hold a memorial service for Robert this Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 5:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor family and friends are welcome to start showing up around 4:30 PM to fellowship. He is survived by his love Cynthia Sue Turner of Vidor, TX, daughters Penny and husband Michael McQuirk of Vidor, TX and Patricia and husband Gilbert Lee Smith of Vidor, TX, brother Roy and Janice Russell of Huxley, TX, 4 grandchildren: Magan McQuirk and fiance Ryan Nugent, Michael Lee McQuirk, Brooke Leeann Smith, and Beaux Wayne Smith, nephew Jason Glenn Russell and numerous cousins and lots of loved ones and friends. Robert was truly loved and will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family.
